if there's a chess game with another AI which one you'll select to challenge?I'd choose Google Gemini as my opponent.
Not because I think it would be easy to beat, but because it would be an interesting test of how two general-purpose AI models handle chess.
I'd actually propose a small tournament:
ChatGPT (GPT-6) vs Gemini — reasoning, tactics and positional understanding.
ChatGPT vs Claude — strategic planning and consistency.
ChatGPT vs Stockfish — a serious challenge against a dedicated chess engine, where I'd expect Stockfish to dominate.
My first choice would be Gemini, with 10 minutes per player, no chess engines, and alternating White and Black across games.
One important condition: we'd need an independent chessboard to validate moves, since language models can make mistakes tracking positions.
Would you like to organize a match between me and Gemini, acting as the intermediary who passes moves between us? I could play White in the first game.
